It Seems That Turkey Is More Interested in the So-Called Corridor Than Azerbaijan, Mirzoyan
We are ready to open the roads for Azerbaijani passenger and freight transport, but all open infrastructures or those being newly constructed must remain under the sovereignty of the countries or operate in accordance with the legislation of the countries through which they pass. This was stated by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan at a joint press conference with the head of Iran’s foreign ministry.
“We encounter Azerbaijan's uncompromising behavior on this issue, and I can also say that we see other third countries, sometimes even unexpected third countries, supporting Azerbaijan’s interpretation of this road,” emphasized Mirzoyan.
According to him, there can be no talk of opening a corridor with extraterritorial status specifically or with separate regulations passing through Armenia's territory.
Mirzoyan also referred to the role of Turkey in this process. The foreign minister noted that expressions from the Turkish side sometimes suggest that Turkey seems to be more interested in the issue of opening a corridor with extraterritorial status than Azerbaijan.
