«There is unprecedented international pressure on Azerbaijan now». Allen Simonyan
Yesterday, there was targeted pressure on Azerbaijan from the EU, noting that the Azerbaijani forces must immediately leave the sovereign territory of Armenia, and the prisoners must also be returned. Diplomatically, globally, we have a unanimous assessment from everyone that the Azerbaijani army has invaded the territory of Armenia, and this will naturally have its political consequences. This was stated today, October 14, by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Allen Simonyan, during a conversation with reporters.
"I do not want to go into details, but the Armenian army is capable of taking certain steps regarding the resolution of the issue. The question remains whether this will lead to greater escalation or not. In that respect, I would prefer to remain silent and allow a representative from the Ministry of Defense to comment," said Simonyan.
Allen Simonyan assured that there is unprecedented international pressure on Azerbaijan now. "Yes, and this international pressure is the result of our teamwork. I evaluate our diplomatic policy over the past year or two very positively. You remember when you asked me whether it was right to appoint Lilit Makunts as ambassador to the USA. I said that she would be one of our best ambassadors. You have seen how actively Armenian-American relations have intensified. For a long time, it was said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had been decapitated; we see how correct is the work of Mr. Mirzoyan and his team there," the Speaker of the National Assembly noted.
