Putin Proposes Creation of Major Gas Hub in Turkey for Europe
The United States, Ukraine, and Poland are the main beneficiaries of the "Nord Stream" diversions. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow during the international conference "Russian Energy Week."
According to Putin, Europe's prosperity in recent decades has depended on cooperation with Russia. He emphasized that Moscow imposes no restrictions on anyone and is ready to supply additional gas to European countries in the autumn and winter periods.
Putin also highlighted Turkey's role in ensuring Europe's energy security. He declared that the volumes lost due to transport through the "Nord Streams" could potentially be redirected to the Black Sea region. For this purpose, he suggested that a major gas hub could be established in Turkey, from which supplies would be made to Europe. He clarified that interest from European partners would be required for this initiative.
