Council of Europe Secretary General Addresses Bayramov: Details
According to the Facebook page 'Armenia in the Council of Europe', on October 10, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Marija Pejčinović Burić, sent a letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov.
In the letter, the Secretary General requests clear and detailed information from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding possible violations of Articles 2 and 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights, based on the evidence of extrajudicial killings of Armenian prisoners of war.
The Secretary General notes that within the framework of the mandate provided by the European Convention on Human Rights, the Council of Europe will remain vigilant on this matter in order to fully uphold the organization’s standards.
