Will the Border Be Closed? Peskov on Mobilization
The categories of citizens who are granted deferments are determined by the Russian government. This will be done in the shortest possible time. This information was provided by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, while commenting on the president's decision regarding partial mobilization.
On September 21, President Vladimir Putin announced the conduct of partial mobilization in Russia.
Peskov refused to answer the question of whether the border would be closed for those subject to the partial mobilization. “I cannot answer that question right now. There are provisions in the current law regarding this. So let's be patient; clarifications will come regarding this issue,” he stated.
The press secretary of the President of Russia also noted that there is no information in the decree regarding the deadlines for mobilization.
Peskov also commented on the observation that a week ago, he had declared that there was currently no talk of either partial or complete mobilization. “I was asked about complete mobilization, and I said that there is no talk of that at this moment. As for how conditions have changed during the special military operation, Putin addressed that in his speech. It is the president who mentioned that we are, in fact, facing the military capabilities of NATO and unfriendly countries against us,” emphasized the press secretary of the President of Russia.
