Armenia and Iran Agree to Reduce Vehicle Entry Tariffs
Armenia and Iran have reached a preliminary agreement to reduce the customs tariffs on vehicle entry. This was announced by Vardan Kostandyan, the commercial attaché of Armenia in the Islamic Republic of Iran, during a press conference at the Armenian-Iranian business forum held in Yerevan.
"Tariffs are currently being collected. According to my information, Armenian vehicles pay about $240, and Iranian vehicles also pay when crossing the Armenian border. We are actively negotiating with the Iranian side. Most likely, the entry fees for both parties will be significantly reduced, and a preliminary agreement is already in place," said Kostandyan.
It is noteworthy that earlier it was reported that vehicles with Armenian state plates would be required to pay $120 to enter Iran starting from May 21 of this year.
Regarding the possibility of increasing gas supplies from Iran to Armenia, Kostandyan mentioned that supplies had previously been reduced due to several issues, but the volume has now been restored. "There is also a good opportunity to increase these supplies in the future," the commercial attaché added.
