Zas on Pashinyan's Criticism of CSTO
Many suggestions have been made regarding the improvement of the CSTO’s crisis response system. The Armenian side has also put forward proposals, which were echoed by leaders of other member states based on the experience from recent events in Kazakhstan.
This was stated by CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas following a meeting of the organization’s member states' leaders in Moscow. “The system is working overall, though there are also shortcomings. It is necessary to carry out fundamental adjustments,” Zas said.
He noted that there had also been discussions concerning the Caucasus region. The increase in the aggressiveness of global powers and military-political alliances towards Russia and its allies has become a serious challenge for the CSTO.
It is noteworthy that during the CSTO summit, Nikol Pashinyan stated that Armenia was not satisfied with the organization’s response during the recent military clashes in Nagorno-Karabakh and afterwards.
