Czech Parliament Recognizes Russian Actions in Ukraine as Genocide
The upper chamber of the Czech Parliament has passed a resolution recognizing the actions of Russian soldiers in Ukraine as genocide against the Ukrainian people. This was announced by Yevhen Perebyinis, Ukraine’s extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador in the Czech Republic.
“The Czech Senate has just recognized the crimes committed by the Russian army in Ukraine as genocide against the Ukrainian people. Thank you,” the ambassador wrote.
According to him, the resolution adopted by the Czech Senate also expresses support for Ukraine and calls on the Czech government to continue providing military assistance to the Ukrainian side from the reserves of the Czechoslovak army.
In addition, the Czech Parliament urges the government to halt the country’s dependency on Russian oil and gas supplies.
