Vanetsyan on Bayramov's Statement Regarding the Opposition
We can state that the people have risen across the entire Republic, and this movement will move forward. There is no doubt that we will achieve success. This was stated to reporters by Arthur Vanetsyan, the leader of the 'Honorary' group.
Speaking about regional visits, Vanetsyan said, 'People in the regions are very scared, because they are being threatened, told that they will be fired, that there will be tax audits, and so on. In the regions, many provocateurs tried to ruin our meetings with citizens. We have felt that people are indeed dissatisfied with this government.'
Addressing the statement made by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Bayramov regarding the protests in Armenia, which claimed that the opposition has been giving false promises to the Armenian people for 30 years, bringing Armenia to the brink of a precipice, Vanetsyan said, 'If you hadn't mentioned Bayramov in your question, you could have presented the same text as if it were said by the Armenian authorities. The same thing is being said by the authorities in Armenia. It is clear that Baku had to say something like that because we say that there will be no one-sided concessions, we say that the territorial integrity of Armenia will not be violated, Artsakh will not be part of Azerbaijan, and so on. I don’t see much difference between the words of Baku and our authorities,' Vanetsyan stated.
We recall that earlier Bayramov spoke about anti-government protests in Armenia.
