Police Issues Statement
The Police of Armenia has issued a statement warning that some participants of the gathering taking place in Yerevan intend to seize the National Assembly building during the parliamentary session scheduled for May 4.
“Dear compatriots, there are reports that some participants of the gathering in Yerevan plan to carry out illegal actions during today’s National Assembly session, attempting to seize the Assembly building and disrupt public order and safety. The Police call on everyone to refrain from illegal actions; otherwise, all responsibility will fall on the organizers of the gathering. We again urge all law-abiding citizens not to succumb to provocations and to refrain from unlawful actions; otherwise, they too will face accountability,” the statement reads.
Earlier, the National Security Service of Armenia announced that it had received reliable operational information indicating that the organizers of the gathering in Yerevan are determined to provoke illegal actions during today’s regular session of the National Assembly through provocations and incite participants to seize the Assembly building, forcing them to carry out any actions that would destabilize the country’s internal security and disrupt public order and safety.
