Tehran Denies British Media Reports on Arms Supply to Russia
The Iranian side denies reports from British media claiming that Iranian weapons have been supplied to Russia for use during its special operation in Ukraine. The corresponding statement was published today by the Iranian embassy in London.
"The attempt to demonstrate a connection between the events taking place in Ukraine and those occurring in the Middle East, as well as the mention of Iran in this context, is an unprofessional and unacceptable step," the representation wrote on Twitter.
At the same time, the embassy referred to the information appearing in the media as "unrealistic and baseless." Earlier, a number of British media outlets had published information regarding purported supplies of weapons, including anti-aircraft systems, from Iraq and Iran to Russia for use during its special operation in Ukraine.
Baghdad has officially denied this information.
