EU Has Never Operated as a Military Organization, Lavrov Says

Statements made by EU Foreign Affairs Chief Josep Borrell regarding the exclusively military resolution of the situation surrounding Ukraine significantly change the rules of the game. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, as reported by TASS.

He noted that the West is turning Kyiv into a platform to ultimately pressure Russia. According to him, this is confirmed by Borrell's “extraordinary” statement on the exclusively military resolution of the situation in Ukraine.

“The EU has never operated as a military organization,” he said.

It is worth recalling that earlier Borrell stated that “wars are won or lost on the battlefield.”
