The latest intelligence report from the UK Ministry of Defence indicates that intense battles are expected to unfold near Kyiv in the coming days. It notes that Russian military forces continue to maintain positions to the east and west of Kyiv, despite the withdrawal of some units.

According to the British intelligence summary, despite Russian statements about intentions to reduce military activity around Chernihiv, artillery bombardments and missile strikes from Russia continue.

Heavy fighting is ongoing in Mariupol, where Ukrainian forces still control the city center.
