‘Armenia has not ensured the safety of Artsakh Armenians’ – Tigran Abrahamyan
We are in a rather complex situation in military, political, and diplomatic terms, stated Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the National Assembly from the ‘We Have Honor’ faction, during a meeting with journalists, addressing the new manifestations of Azerbaijani aggression in Artsakh.
The MP emphasized that Azerbaijan has occupied a significant portion of the Askeran region of Artsakh, violating the trilateral agreement of November 9, 2020.
“According to rough estimates, we are talking about 1,100 to 1,200 hectares, but this should not be assessed only in territorial terms, because Azerbaijan’s goal is to improve its positional advantage by ensuring an incursion, and also to establish control over the viability of the areas of Artsakh that are currently under our control,” said Abrahamyan.
According to him, Armenia has not taken any actions commensurate with the situation: “Political statements or assessments regarding the situation do not play a restraining or preventive role, and it should be noted that Armenia has not fully extended itself within the limits of its capabilities and has not ensured the safety of Artsakh Armenians,” emphasized Tigran Abrahamyan.
