Patrol Service to Operate in Shirak, Lori, and Aragatsotn Regions
During the month of April, the Patrol Police service will be launched in the Shirak and Lori regions. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this at today's government meeting. To this end, the government decided to allocate more than 2 billion drams in funding to the police.
"I want to emphasize that this is indeed a reform of great significance for us. As you already know, the Patrol Police has been operating in Yerevan since July. It should be noted that the results of the Patrol Police's activities are satisfactory. The most important brand of Armenia's external facade is democracy, and we are essentially shaping a police force that meets democratic standards. Of course, this process does not proceed without shortcomings and complications, but it is clear that this reform justifies itself," he said.
By the end of the year, the patrol service will also operate in the Aragatsotn region.
