Ukraine Outlines Conditions for Discussing NATO Membership Withdrawal
The advisor to the head of the Ukrainian President's office, Mykhailo Podolyak, has stated the conditions under which Kyiv would consider discussing the issue of withdrawing its intention to join NATO. According to Armenpress, citing Strana.ua, Podolyak emphasized the necessity for security guarantees.
Podolyak mentioned that the Ukrainian side is ready for constructive negotiations around key points. “Regarding political issues, Zelensky is not afraid to discuss any political matters with the Russian side. However, it is natural that we defend our national statehood and our national rights. We need to receive a clear and specific legally binding package of security guarantees under conditions where NATO openly states that there will be no accession for Ukraine. It is pointless to talk about details right now. The most important thing now is to physically protect Ukraine,” Podolyak stated.
