Donetsk Parliament Unanimously Ratifies Treaty of Friendship and Mutual Assistance with Russia
The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Council has passed a law ratifying the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation, and Mutual Assistance between the Russian Federation and the Donetsk People's Republic, reports a correspondent from RIA Novosti.
During an extraordinary session of parliament, all 87 present deputies voted in favor of adopting the relevant decision.
It is noteworthy that on February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced after an extraordinary session of the Security Council that it was necessary to urgently recognize the sovereignty of Luhansk and Donetsk. Following this announcement, the president signed decrees in the Kremlin recognizing the LPR and DPR. In his decrees, Putin instructed to ensure the protection of Donetsk and Luhansk by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
