Russia has the right to supply weapons to whomever it wants. Zakharova responds to Aliyev's statement
The supply of weapons by Russia is its sovereign right. This was stated today by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, during a briefing, commenting on the statements made by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
“We read and hear a lot about this, but I would like to draw your attention to the fact that we have established appropriate relations with both Armenia and Azerbaijan,” she said.
The spokesperson added that the Russian side takes into account the necessity of maintaining a balance of power in the region.
Earlier, in an interview with CNN Turk, the Azerbaijani president accused Armenia of supposedly not wanting to sign a peace agreement and harboring revanchist sentiments. He also referred to the claims made by the Russian side regarding arms supplies to Armenia as “illogical.”
