Alen Simonian Chairs Extraordinary Parliamentary Council Meeting; Agenda Revealed
On August 16, an extraordinary meeting of the National Assembly Council took place under the chairmanship of the Speaker of the Parliament, Alen Simonian. The agenda included the issue of nominating the deputy chairs of the permanent committees of the eighth convocation of the National Assembly.
According to the resolution established by Article 138 of the Constitutional Law on the 'Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly,' the leaders of the parliamentary factions presented their decisions regarding the nomination of the deputy chairs of the permanent committees of the eighth convocation.
The 'Civil Contract' faction will nominate the deputy chairs for the Economic, Regional and Eurasian Integration, Human Rights Protection, Public Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environmental Protection, Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sports, European Integration, Healthcare, and State-Legal Affairs Permanent Committees. The 'Armenia' faction will nominate for the Defense and Security, Financial and Budgetary, Labor and Social Affairs Permanent Committees, while the 'I Have Honor' faction will be responsible for the Foreign Relations Permanent Committee.
