VIDEO: NASA's Helicopter Completes Eighth Flight on Mars

NASA's Ingenuity mini helicopter has completed its eighth flight over the surface of the Red Planet. This is reported by Space.com.

It is noted that on June 21, the helicopter remained airborne for 77.4 seconds, covering a distance of 160 meters. After that, it landed approximately 133.5 meters away from the Perseverance rover.

Currently, it is moving from one location to another to test the functionality of its navigation system. Ingenuity's previous, seventh flight took place on June 8.

Despite the fact that the Mars helicopter was originally intended for five experimental flights, its successes have prompted NASA to extend the mission. According to the publication, it could continue exploring the Red Planet for several more months.
