Macron: I Had an Extended Private Conversation with President Erdoğan
French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that he had a lengthy conversation with Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan ahead of the NATO summit in Brussels.
“In anticipation of the NATO summit, I had an extended private conversation with President Erdoğan, with clarity, respect, and a demand to move forward,” Macron wrote on his Twitter page.
Earlier, the French president had stated that he intended to engage in negotiations with his Turkish counterpart to discuss the 'rules of conduct' among allies in NATO, as well as the situation in Syria, Libya, and Nagorno-Karabakh.
