Peskov Discusses Importance of Putin-Biden Meeting

The choice of venue for negotiations between Russian and U.S. Presidents Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden is primarily a technical decision; the essential factor is the fact of the meeting itself. Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for the Russian President, stated this during the "Moscow. Kremlin. Putin" program, according to TASS agency.

He emphasized that such meetings between leaders are crucial for pulling the two countries' relations out of the current grim situation. Peskov expressed that 'the choice of city is a technical decision.'

'The important thing is the fact that the meeting is taking place, as this is quite significant for our bilateral relations and for getting them out of the current dark scenario,' highlighted the Kremlin representative.

He also added that the question of the meeting is under discussion. 'Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has reported in detail to the President on the results of his meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and the President will make a decision. Once he does so, we will inform the public,' Peskov noted.
