Restrictions in Kindergartens to be Lifted Tomorrow
By order No. N28-N of the Minister of Health dated May 4, the restrictions on the admission of children and the number of children in groups at kindergartens will be lifted. The order will come into effect starting tomorrow.
The new order does not set a specific threshold for the number of children and social distancing. It only states that the process of caring for and educating the children will be organized in a manner that ensures social distancing during playtime, activities, meals, and nap times.
Additionally, the provision requiring the avoidance of additional admissions has been rescinded.
As a result, children who have been deprived of the opportunity to receive preschool education and have been unable to attend kindergarten will now be able to go back.
It is noteworthy that due to anti-epidemic restrictions, preschool education has been interrupted, leaving around 3,000 children out of kindergartens, while the number of those registered exceeds 12,000.
Until now, according to the existing regulations established during the coronavirus pandemic, the educational process in kindergartens was organized for a maximum of 20 children while maintaining a distance of 1 meter. Previously, the process was organized for a maximum of 18 children with a distance of 1.5 meters, which was later slightly relaxed.
However, many parents expressed dissatisfaction regarding their inability to take their children to kindergarten and protested in front of the municipality, often noting that the set distance was nominal.
