White House Responds to Putin's Proposal
The White House currently has no information regarding a possible future conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Joe Biden, but states that communications with Russian leadership will continue, according to the U.S. President's press secretary. This information was reported by RIA Novosti.
According to RIA Novosti, the White House spokesperson was asked whether U.S. authorities would consider the Russian leader's proposal to have a conversation with the U.S. President on Friday or Monday. “I will inform you when we think about it,” the spokesperson clarified.
The spokesperson reminded that Biden has already spoken with President Putin but there are other leaders with whom he has yet to communicate. “We are maintaining contact with members of the Russian government, but I don’t have anything to say about future leaders’ meetings,” the press secretary stated. She added that “the President will be in Georgia tomorrow and is quite busy.”
Earlier, U.S. President Joe Biden responded positively to the question of whether he considers his counterpart Vladimir Putin a “murderer,” and he also warned the Russian president about impending interference in the elections. In response, Vladimir Putin wished Biden good health and noted that judging others is like looking in a mirror.
