Cyclone Will Exit Armenia in the Evening, Rainfall Will Stop
The Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center reports: "As predicted, intense snowfall has been observed throughout the republic due to the powerful cyclone that penetrated on March 11-12. The low-lying areas of the Ararat Plain were an exception, where precipitation occurred in the form of wet snow and rain mixed with snow.
The heaviest snowfall was recorded in Vayots Dzor and Syunik provinces, where in some areas, monthly norms were reached in just 24 hours. The maximum increase in snow cover was recorded in 24 hours in the regions of Sisian and Goris, with 30-35 cm, in Jermuk with 35 cm, and in the Vorotan pass with 30 cm.
In the Sisian and Kapan areas, the snowfall was accompanied by strong thunderstorms, which is a rare phenomenon. Today, during the day, the active influence of the cyclone will continue until noon, with significant snowfall persisting in many regions, particularly intensively in Vayots Dzor and Syunik.
In the evening, the cyclone will exit Armenia, and the precipitation will stop. #HMC #HMC"
