Marukyan Appeals to Prime Minister
The head of the "Enlightened Armenia" faction in the National Assembly, Edmond Marukyan, has addressed Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, proposing urgent assistance for the Armenian community in Lebanon.
“Dear citizens, I have just submitted a written appeal to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan regarding the provision of urgent assistance to Armenians in Lebanon. As many of you know, for some time now, mass protests and unrest have been ongoing in the Republic of Lebanon. This situation threatens the safety of the local Armenian community, which constitutes a significant number in Lebanon.
In these circumstances, the Armenian government should support our hundreds of thousands of compatriots to ensure they are not left alone in this situation. Thus, we have proposed to implement an urgent program to accept representatives of the Armenian community from Lebanon in Armenia and provide necessary assistance,” wrote Marukyan.
