I Am Ready to Work on the Development of Bilateral Relations: China's Foreign Minister to Mirzoyan
China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi has congratulated Ararat Mirzoyan on his reappointment as Armenia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, as reported by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In his message, Wang emphasized that the China-Armenia relationship is currently developing in a stable manner, with cooperation in various fields proceeding regularly.
“Last year, President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan jointly announced the establishment of a strategic partnership between our two countries. I am ready to work with you to implement the important agreements reached by our leaders, to strengthen cooperation between our foreign ministries, and to promote the stable development of bilateral relations,” Wang's message stated.
It is noteworthy that the Armenian government submitted its resignation on August 2, coinciding with the commencement of the first session of the National Assembly formed based on the results of the parliamentary elections held on June 7. According to the Constitution, on the day of the first session of the newly-elected parliament, the government must submit a resignation request to the President of Armenia. On August 2, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed the government’s resignation request, which was sent to the President’s office. After the resignation was confirmed by the President, the Civil Contract party, which had a majority in the new parliament, nominated Nikol Pashinyan for the position of Prime Minister, leading to his reappointment by the President.
On August 3, at Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s suggestion, President Vahagn Khachaturyan appointed the Deputy Prime Ministers and Ministers. Ararat Mirzoyan was reappointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
