America Approves Extensive Sanctions Against Russia: Zelensky Thanks Senate
The President of Ukraine has expressed gratitude to the U.S. Senate for approving a package of anti-Russian sanctions. “We appreciate the support from the United States. Now, as Putin makes his last gamble and tries to prolong the war with ballistic missiles, we desperately need air defense missiles,” the Ukrainian president added.
Prior to this, the U.S. Senate had passed a bill regarding extensive sanctions against Russia, advancing a long-stalled initiative proposed by the late Senator Lindsey Graham. The purpose of the document is to increase economic pressure on Moscow due to the conflict with Ukraine.
