The Iranian authorities announced that the Strait of Hormuz will only be opened for navigation if the United States accepts Tehran's conditions and refrains from interfering in the internal affairs of the region. This was stated by Hossein Mohibin, a representative of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, as reported by TASS.

"The opening of the Strait of Hormuz is contingent upon the complete acceptance of Iran's conditions by the United States and the American side's refusal to interfere in the regional negotiation process. As soon as the US accepts Iran's conditions, the Strait of Hormuz will undoubtedly be opened," he said.

On August 5, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei announced that Iran and Oman had agreed on the geographical coordinates for a new route through the Strait of Hormuz. He emphasized that the future agreement between Tehran and Muscat does not imply an immediate opening of the strait, as this issue is dependent on US actions.
