FIFA Responds to Scandalous Allegations Against Infantino's Former Mistress
The International Football Federation (FIFA) has issued an official statement addressing the allegations against its president regarding compensation payments made to his former mistress during his tenure as UEFA Secretary General.
“FIFA President Gianni Infantino completely denies these allegations, asserting that they are unfounded. Any suggestion of breach of statutes or regulations is defamatory in nature. No employee of UEFA or FIFA has ever lodged a complaint against Infantino due to the absence of any incidents involving him. All personnel decisions, including terminations and severance payments, have been approved by authorized management in strict accordance with existing regulations,” FIFA's statement reads.
Earlier reports suggested that Infantino facilitated a promotion for his mistress while working at UEFA and arranged for her severance benefits.
Infantino began his career at UEFA in August 2000. He served as UEFA Secretary General from 2009 to 2016, before being elected as president of FIFA in February 2016.
