Serzh Sargsyan Had So Much Confidence That He Solved Issues with a Single Call, Says Sharmazanov

Eduard Sharmazanov, Vice President of the Republican Party of Armenia, writes: "On this day in 2008, our region was 'trembling'. The outbreak of the Georgian-Ossetian war posed a threat to Armenia as well. It was clear that food security in our country was endangered."

He elaborates that on the same day, during the opening of the Olympic Games in Beijing, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, upon receiving news about the Georgian-Ossetian war, immediately contacted Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and requested the necessary amounts of fuel and food supplies for Armenia. The friendly Iranian president did not hesitate to express his willingness to support his friend and brotherly Armenia.

According to Sharmazanov, he has addressed this topic so that certain anti-state and unpatriotic creatures can understand that ensuring state security and interstate relations cannot be done via live broadcasts or riding bicycles. Serzh Sargsyan had so much confidence and understanding from his counterpart that he could solve Armenia's food security issue with just one phone call. This also stemmed from the fact that when implementing any geopolitical decision, Serzh Sargsyan took into account the interests of our neighboring and friendly Iran as well.
