Turkey Planned Airstrikes Against Armenia: New Revelations by Expert
Expert on Turk-Kurdish conflict Karen Hovhannisyan wrote on his Facebook page: "Turkey was preparing to carry out airstrikes against Armenia. The Swedish site ‘Nordic Monitor’, which published an article about the manifestations of extremism in Turkey, has revealed that Turkey was planning a military operation against Armenia.
The author of the article managed to obtain a copy of a secret document discussing missing pages related to the operational plan for this action. The document is dated May 23, 2016, and addressed to the general staff. It states that several pages describing the airstrikes under the code name OĞUZTÜRK directed at Armenia are missing. The disappearance was noted on May 4, 2016, at the Akinci Air Base in Ankara during a review of the documents.
The document clarifies that the plan to invade Armenia was approved on July 13, 2001, under the code name ALTAY. Meanwhile, it is noted that the operational plan remains unchanged and that any losses will not adversely affect the ALTAY directive."
