Drone Explodes Near Gas Pipeline Connecting Turkey and Ukraine in Bulgaria
A drone that took off from Romanian territory exploded in Bulgaria on Saturday, near the border of the two countries and the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline, reported Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev, according to AFP.
According to Radev, the drone exploded in northeastern Bulgaria, right next to the Kardam border checkpoint and about 1 kilometer away from the compressor station of the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline. There were no casualties from the incident.
The Trans-Balkan gas pipeline connects Turkey and Ukraine, traversing the territories of Bulgaria, Romania, and Moldova.
Radev reported the incident in a video message that the Bulgarian government published on social media.
