The US chargé d'affaires in Azerbaijan, Amy Carlson, has stated that the TRIPP route should ensure unimpeded access for Azerbaijan to Nakhchivan, strengthen regional integration, and enhance transport links in the East-West direction, as well as create mutual economic benefits and prosperity for Azerbaijan and the region.

“The TRIPP route must ensure unimpeded access for Azerbaijan to Nakhchivan, strengthen regional integration, and enhance transport connections in the East-West direction, while also generating mutual economic benefits and prosperity for Azerbaijan and the region,” said Amy Carlson.

She noted significant progress in the implementation of the TRIPP project over the past year, adding that this process is expected to accelerate in the coming year.

Carlson also commented on the US-Azerbaijan strategic partnership. She recalled that on August 8, 2025, President Donald Trump and Ilham Aliyev signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at elevating US-Azerbaijan relations to a new level.

According to her, this process continued earlier this year when US Vice President James David Vance signed the US-Azerbaijan strategic partnership charter with Ilham Aliyev during his visit to Baku in February.

Carlson revealed that following this, the parties began working towards the implementation of the strategic partnership, and the number of high-level reciprocal visits between Azerbaijan and the US has increased.

The diplomat noted that a new memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of critical minerals was signed in June, the first US-Azerbaijan economic dialogue was held, and American companies signed trade and investment agreements worth billions of dollars.

“We are just starting our work. There is still much to do ahead,” said Carlson.

The American diplomat emphasized that President Donald Trump has clearly demonstrated the US's commitment to peace and prosperity in the South Caucasus. “The progress we achieved over the past year shows what can be accomplished when we work together. I am confident that in the coming years our countries will reach many more important milestones through joint efforts,” she added.
