Is Kostanyan to Become Deputy Director of National Security Service? Vanetsyan Responds

The newspaper 'Zhoghovurd' reports that recent media speculation suggests that former Chief Prosecutor Gevorg Kostanyan may soon be appointed as the Deputy Director of the National Security Service (NSS). Following a recent session of the Government of Armenia, NSS Director Arthur Vanetsyan was asked by 'Zhoghovurd' to confirm the accuracy of these reports.

“These rumors have no basis in reality. However, I will say that Gevorg Kostanyan is a professional lawyer with considerable experience, and I would be happy to work with him at any time,” replied Arthur Vanetsyan.

It should also be noted that the authorities still wish to utilize Gevorg Kostanyan’s professional capabilities in legal and law enforcement areas. This approach is certainly commendable, as state-building should reject political sympathies,” the report stated.
