Rafik Mashadyan to Be Dismissed
The Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, Rafik Mashadyan, is set to be dismissed. This information is reported by Irakanum.am.
According to reliable sources from the media outlet, the authorities do not wish to overshadow their ratings and, considering the widespread discontent surrounding Mashadyan and his family members, have decided to remove him from the State Revenue Committee.
Sources indicate that recently there was a meeting between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Rafik Mashadyan, during which the head of the executive expressed his grievances.
It is worth noting that in the “New” Armenia, the issue of appointments within the State Revenue Committee has been a topic of heated discussion. Several key officials, whose names have been linked to corruption processes in the “old” Armenia, have obtained high positions within the system. Among them is Rafik Mashadyan, who was appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee. Previously, he was the head of the large taxpayers' inspection. Mashadyan has detailed to journalists the agreement reached between the owners of large supermarkets and the former leadership of the State Revenue Committee, which resulted in tax evasion. He has also been questioned by the National Security Service regarding this matter. In recent days, there has also been active discussion about the appointment of his still-young son, Harutyun Mashadyan, as a prosecutor in the Yerevan garrison prosecutor's office.
