Four Indians Deceived in Armenia Have Returned to India
Four Indian citizens, who found themselves in a difficult situation in Armenia due to the deceit of Indian tourist agencies, have been sent back to India. The Indian Embassy in Armenia announced this on Twitter.
Indian media, particularly the Hindustan Times, published an article titled "Haven't eaten for 5 days," which reported that four young men from Punjab had encountered an impossible situation. A video was also released in which the young men assert that they haven't eaten for 5 days, while the landlord demands they leave the premises.
According to the newspaper, these Indians had arrived in Armenia on a visa provided by an Indian travel agency with the intent to work, but they failed to secure employment in Armenia.
The case has also caught the attention of Indian lawmakers, who are working to hold accountable the seven Indian tourism agencies that committed the wrongdoing. Six of these agencies have already been summoned to the police in the city of Kapurthala, Punjab.
