Black Ice on Sisian-Goris Section: Road Conditions Reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of February 2, at 18:00, there are closed and difficult-to-pass roadways in the territory of Armenia.
The Vardenyats Pass is open only for passenger vehicles; visibility is low.
The Sotk-Karabakh road is impassable.
There are patches of black ice on the roads in the regions of Sotk-Karabakh, Armavir, Amasia, Syunik, and Aragatsotn.
Snow is falling in the Vardenyats Pass, on the Sotk-Karabakh road, in Shirak province, in Spitak of Lori province, in Sisian and Kajaran cities of Syunik province, in the area known as 'Meghru Sar', in Aparan of Aragatsotn province, and in Vardenis of Gegharkunik province.
Blizzards are reported in the Vardenyats Pass and on the Sotk-Karabakh road.
Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
About the Larsi Pass
According to information received from Georgia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi road is open for all types of vehicles; however, there are cargo trucks queued on the Russian side.
