Police Detain Youths Who Damaged Car and Fired Shots
On January 18, a video was published on a news website showing several young men getting out of an 'Opel' vehicle, grossly violating public order and displaying blatant disrespect towards society as they struck a 'Mercedes' car. The incident occurred at the intersection of Freedom Avenue and Nairi Zaryan Street in Yerevan.
Criminal investigators from the Arabkir Division of the police have detained Yerevan residents, 23-year-old Serob Hovhannisyan, the driver of the 'Opel,' 25-year-old Tigran Karapetyan, 18-year-old Albert Hovhannisyan, and 23-year-old Karo Sargsyan, based on operational information received.
Preliminary data suggests that the incident was caused by a failure to yield at the intersection and the use of horn signals.
The criminal case initiated by the Arabkir Division of the police has been forwarded to the investigative department of the Arabkir administrative district. An investigation is underway.
