The total number of people affected by the natural disaster has exceeded 466.

On August 26, a powerful flow of water passed through the Bhotekoshi River in the mountainous region of the country. Major causes of the widespread flooding are attributed to underground tremors and resulting landslides.

According to Nepal's tourism department, as of August 27, eight Russian citizens are reported missing in the disaster area, while two other Russian tourists have been rescued.
