The Prime Minister of Qatar visited Tehran on Thursday, where he met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to discuss the agreement forming between Oman and Iran regarding the Strait of Hormuz. Officials from Pakistan and Oman have also visited Iran this week.

At the same time, the White House has announced that negotiations between the United States and Iran are currently not taking place. The USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier is set to head to the Middle East in the coming weeks. According to officials, it is expected to remain in the region for at least seven months.

U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that Washington's financial strength will lead the country to a "great victory" over Iran. The diplomatic activity surrounding Hormuz has visibly impacted the oil market, with prices decreasing for three consecutive days after Iran and Oman announced discussions on a potential temporary shipping route for vessels.
