Medvedev's Statement is Unwarranted and Excessively Aggressive, Says Alen Simonian
I believe that the response primarily coming from Moscow, made by Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, is unwarranted and excessively aggressive. This was stated by Alen Simonian, the Secretary of the Armenian Security Council, during an interview with the Dozhd television channel.
“We are not in any way prepared to go to war with Russia, whether in political, economic, or any other relations. We would like our Russian partners to approach our situation with understanding, as we are not prepared to remain in an economic and military deadlock. We need alternatives. This concerns the existence of our country, and this is a question that is not open to doubt. We need to find markets for ourselves. We do not intend to lose our statehood, our country, our people,” he said.
Earlier, it was reported that Dmitry Medvedev stated that there is only one rule applicable to Armenia's current authorities: “Do not throw pearls before swine.”
