“The empty seats of the opposition evoke pleasant memories, as I believe that without our opposition colleagues, our discussions are more substantive,” said Ruben Rubinyan, Speaker of the National Assembly, looking at the empty seats of the two opposition factions in the Parliament.

He noted two reasons for the opposition factions leaving the hall. “Our esteemed partners of Strong Armenia got offended and left; this is a new discourse in global politics, where a faction does not boycott but rather leaves out of offense. We are dealing with political sensitivity,” Rubinyan stated and expressed the view that they addressed Garagin the Second using the name of the basin.

He recalled that in response to Narek Karapetyan’s comment that Grigor Illuminator also had a child, Rubinyan said that in the 4th century, there was still no celibacy. “No one expects that everyone should love Andranik Kocharyan; some must love him, while others should not, and that ratio also depends on Mr. Kocharyan and us,” Rubinyan said, attempting to explain that the Catholicos of All Armenians is not the Catholicos of former presidents, and those who voted for the Civil Contract party with 700,000 votes agree with Prime Minister Pashinyan's periodic statements about the dismissal of the Catholicos.

“Don’t you find it a problem that I am a more moral character than Ktrich Nersisyan?” Rubinyan asked the members of the CP sitting in the hall.

Addressing the absence of the Armenia faction, Rubinyan stated that they announce that this is related to the revenge of the CP. “We will take revenge on Robert Kocharyan, as well as on other supposed corrupt individuals; we will take revenge on everyone one by one,” Rubinyan declared and presented the grounds submitted by the KP to imprison the Kocharyans, according to which they bought land near Cascades, then exchanged it for another plot of the same size, and later sold it for 1.7 billion drams, attempting to depict it as a criminal offense.
