Armenia and Azerbaijan Discuss Electricity Swap
On August 25, 2026, a working meeting took place in the city of Lachin, Republic of Azerbaijan, involving representatives from the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia, the Armenian Electricity System Operator Company, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Azerbaijani company Azerenergy. This information was reported by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of importing and exporting electricity between the two countries, as well as potential options for linking the energy infrastructures of both states at the national border.
