VIDEO: Either Resign Your Mandates or Make a Revolution, Work – PM Pashinyan to Opposition

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, addressed the opposition in the National Assembly, responding to their statements questioning the legitimacy of the government. He proposed that if they are convinced that the elections were not legitimate, they should resign their mandates and pursue a revolution.

“I said this at the end of the previous parliament session – resign your mandates; the public is waiting for you. Make a revolution. There is no better revolutionary situation than an illegitimate election and an illegitimate government. This is paradise for any opposition,” Pashinyan stated.

According to the Prime Minister, if the opposition insists that the elections were rigged, they need to demonstrate whose votes were falsified and take appropriate political steps.

Pashinyan also criticized the opposition MPs for frequently leaving and returning to the session hall. “These people have their own legitimacy problem. They do not have the status of a master in this hall; they understand they are like assigned workers on some mission. Events are developing rapidly, the instructions on what to do haven’t arrived, they are confused, going and coming,” he said.

He stated that the current situation is not only a problem for the opposition but for the Republic of Armenia. “Either resign your mandates and engage in a revolution, or you have come to sit down and work. I do not think that being offended and leaving at every word is a sign of strength,” the Prime Minister concluded.
