Children Evacuated from Gaza for Treatment in Armenia; Government Allocates 16.7 Million Dram
Children with serious health issues from the Gaza Strip will be transferred to Armenia to receive necessary medical care. The government approved the corresponding project today.
In order to organize the treatment of the children, 16.7 million dram will be allocated from the government's reserve fund to the Ministry of Health.
This program is being implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the World Health Organization.
Initially, it was planned to evacuate up to 10 children to Armenia. A preliminary assessment considered 11 patients, of whom treatment for 7 can be provided in Armenia. However, only the families of 3 of these 7 children have agreed to participate in the program. One reason is the program’s condition that each child can only be accompanied by a maximum of one guardian.
Thus, at this stage, it is planned to transfer 3 children from Gaza to Armenia for treatment.
