Highest Growth of Freight Transportation Registered in Armenia at 12.1% in EEU
Freight and passenger transportation in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) has increased, with Armenia among the leaders.
According to the results for the first half of 2026, the total volume of passenger traffic in EEU member countries has increased by 0.5% compared to the same period last year.
The most notable increase in passenger traffic was recorded in Armenia at 7.3%, followed by Belarus at 7.2%, Kazakhstan at 5.1%, and Kyrgyzstan at 4.9%.
Positive dynamics were also noted in the field of freight transportation. The volume of freight transport in Armenia has grown by 12.1%, in Kyrgyzstan by 3.1%, in Kazakhstan by 2%, and in Belarus by 1.5%.
Thus, based on the results from January to June 2026, Armenia has recorded the highest growth rate in freight transportation among EEU member countries while also falling among the leaders in passenger traffic growth.
The dynamics of transportation indicators indicate an expansion of passenger transport and freight flows in the Eurasian region.
