Residents of Nor Hachin Who Died After Crane Accident Were Villagers

In the city of Nor Hachin, following a tragic incident at a construction site on August 18, two citizens, 37-year-old Misak Vopanyan and 41-year-old Garik Martirosyan, lost their lives. Both were originally from the village of Fontan.

Residents of Fontan shared with NEWS.am that Misak Vopanyan lived with his parents, while Garik Martirosyan resided with his mother. Neither of them was married.

It was previously reported that at 14:44 on August 18, the Kotayk Regional Operational Management Center received a call indicating that a mobile crane had broken off and fallen during construction work, leaving a citizen trapped underneath.

The construction site where the tragic event occurred was the former polyclinic in Nor Hachin, which was undergoing renovation by the company “ASHKAR” LLC. The deceased were 41 and 37 years old.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident under Article 355 of the Criminal Code (violation of safety rules or requirements during the performance of construction, mining, or other works, resulting in death due to negligence) (2 episodes). Two individuals have been arrested.
