Ukraine Appoints New Defense Minister
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has approved the appointment of Yevhen Khmara as the country's new Minister of Defense with 312 votes in favor. Prior to this, he had been leading the defense ministry in an acting capacity following a government reshuffle in July. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine referencing the live broadcast of the parliamentary session.
President Volodymyr Zelensky presented Khmara's candidacy to the parliament the day before. Andrii Sybiha will remain in his position as Ukraine's Foreign Minister, as confirmed by the relevant submission from President Zelensky to the Verkhovna Rada.
