Yerevan will have a new street, which, upon the suggestion of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, will be named 'COP17'. This announcement was made by Pashinyan during a government meeting, addressing the preparations for COP17, which will take place in Yerevan from October 13 to 30, 2026.

According to him, during the preparatory works, it was revealed that there is a long-unused road connecting the Victory Bridge to Arshakunyats Avenue, which is currently being restored.

"As a result of the organizational works, Yerevan will have a new street, and I proposed that our partners in the Yerevan City Hall name this street COP17 Street to mark the event," Pashinyan said.

The Prime Minister noted that roads and sidewalks in the area are also being restored, emphasizing that the holding of COP17 is crucial for enhancing Armenia's international visibility and recognition.

At the same time, the government meeting decided to allocate an additional 2 billion 640.8 million drams from the reserve fund for the organization of COP17.
